How to make 40k $ + /month with your blog

Jun 08

For those who don’t know who John Chow is, you need to know.  The guy is my role model for monetizing a blog. In some ways, he’s my inspiration, not for starting this blog but for monetizing it the way I am. I’ve been studying what the guy does because anyone who can make 40K+ per month from spending 2 hours per day on a blog is worth studying and listening to.

Similar to John Chow, I didn’t really start this blog with the idea of turning it into a type of income (I just started this site as a test for Quansite and thought I could post some stuff I know and some personal ramblings / rants ) but after seeing how he did just that starting by a case study using his own blog to prove how it was possible to make a living blogging…

8 Tools To Find & Manage Domains

May 06

In my last post, I shared some domain prefixes and suffixes that help find great available domain names so I thought I’d continue on this path of sharing some more tools that I’ve personally been using to find and manage my growing domain portfolio.

Searching for domains

InstantDomainSearch.com – Instant domain availability search
instant domain search
Of course you can search for domains in plenty of different places but a while ago I came across this website that gave me instant availability status as I typed, an ajax domain search.

Pretty cool, I find having instant feedback like that, allows me to find domain much more quickly than if I had to click a submit button and wait for  a page to load every time I wanted to check for a domain. When you see that perfect domain is taken, try adding one of your favorite domain prefix or suffix to it and instantly see the availability. It’s a huge time saver.

On another note, being a web developer, I always have a few ideas on doing things that could be added to websites I visit and it’s no different on how this site could improve.

I’d like to see it give out suggestions on alternative domain names when the one you have typed is not available, similar to how other sites give you alternative when the domain you searched for is taken.

Domain Prefixes & Suffixes To Help You Find Great Domains

May 05

Lately I’ve been wanting to get more into domaining (buying & selling domain names). I’ve had some success with selling domains in the past – by accident, people just came to me to buy some domains that I owned so it’s always been in the back of my mind to get in this business as a sideline. I enjoy searching for great brand-able new domains or great expired domains that people give up so it’s not really work for me, it’s fun :)

Good domains are harder and harder to come by however so I’ve been keeping a list of prefixes and suffixes to help me find some good domains over the years and I’d like to share them with you so that hopefully they’ll help you the next time you just can’t seem to find any available good domains (sometimes it feels like all the domains are taken doesn’t it? ).

Most of them can work as a prefix or suffix but sometimes it only works as one or the other, I’ll leave that up to you :)

It’s helped me over the years so hopefully you’ll also get some use out of it:
